1. Hauntings of Linden Place

From October 12th to October 26th, you can check out a real haunted house. Every Thursday night at 6:30 PM, docents will lead a tour of Linden Place. They will tell ghost stories about the Colt and DeWolf’s. In the one hour tour, you also get to view the museum and enjoy some refreshments.

With two centuries of history, Linden Place has its own history of haunting. But you can also learn about hauntings at the Colt Farm and the school. Find out about the stories of 19th-century vampires and of mediums calling back the dead. The tour will also give you a glimpse into some of the traditional style and science of the 1800s. If you want to join the tour, there is a $10 admission for adults. Seniors and students with an ID pay $8.

2. World Class Cider Takeover

It wouldn’t be fall without some cider. If you want to check out one of the Newport Rhode Island fall events that can satisfy your cider craving, don’t miss this one. The World Class Cider Takeover takes place at Norey’s on Broadway. From October 6th to October 20th, you can go to Norey’s every weekday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Check out their incredible selection of cider.

If you haven’t been to Norey’s yet, the Cider Takeover is a good excuse to go. Since 2000, the establishment has brought great food and craft beer to Newport. Whether you want to try a world class cider or enjoy a delicious meal, you should check out this event.

3. The Pumpkin Patch

Fall means Halloween, and Halloween means pumpkins. This fall, check out one of the Newport Rhode Island fall events that will let you choose from a huge selection of pumpkins. However, it’s more than just a patch of pumpkins. This event features plenty of entertainment. It starts on October 7th and continues every day until Halloween. On the weekends, the event occurs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the week, it occurs from noon until 6:00 PM. You can find the Pumpkin Patch at the Trinity Church.

On the weekends, the event features live music, craft vendors, pictures, and refreshments. Find your new fall decor with a selection of decorative cabbages and gourds. If you’re looking for some fall food, there will be plenty of that. On the weekends, the patch will have hot lunch. Every day, you can find cider, freshly made popcorn, and more. Visit the Pumpkin Patch on October 29th at 1:00 PM for a costume parade. Celebrate fall with a fun family event.

4. Pre-K Fall Story and Stroll

Few people enjoy the fall as much as children. Why not allow your children to appreciate the fall and nature at the same time? At the Norman Bird Sanctuary, children can enjoy storytime and a walk through the sanctuary. The program occurs on October 18th, November 1st, and November 15th from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. The cost is $5, and that includes admission for one parent and one child. If another parent wants to attend, the cost is an additional $2.

5. Terror on the Tracks

If you’re looking for one of the Newport Rhode Island fall events that can give you a thrill, you should consider Terror on the Tracks. This event is hosted by the Rail Explorers. You get the opportunity to tour on the pedal-powered train and experience the beauty of the railroad.

The event takes place Thursdays through Sundays from October 7th through October 31st. It’s an event that is open to the whole family. Although the pedal train requires you to pedal, there is minimal exertion. People of all ages can enjoy the ride without getting too tired. As you ride, there is a trained guide in the front and back of the tour. Although you leave together, you have about 200 feet of space between you and the people in front of you. You can enjoy the solitude of the ride, but still have the safety of the guides.

6. Pumpkin Palooza

For another taste of pumpkins, you can head to the Pumpkin Palooza. Located in Warren, this event occurs at cation: Frerichs Farm & Greenhouses. It runs every weekend until October 29th. Children can play in a pile of hay or look for a needle in the haystack. Or, they can take a ride around the farm in a pumpkin coach. There will be a variety of arts and crafts, giving kids plenty to do.
