Kevin Kerton, a schizophrenic with a history of violence, was released from prison on Sept. 20 after serving time for a Manhattan attempted robbery and immediately stopped taking his meds. He disappeared into the night, his frantic family begging the state to place him in a monitored setting before he became unhinged.
